Game Description:Play Asteroids online for free. The arrow keys are used to move the space ship and you must press the space bar to fire the laser. Your space ship is moving dangerously in an asteroid field. Any contact with the asteroids will destroy the ship. You must use your laser cannon to destroy the asteroids as well as the enemy spaceships that appear from time to time. Originally introduced by Atari in 1979.

The main objective when you play Asteroids online is to score the most possible points as you can by vaporizing asteroids and destroying the flying saucers that appear to harrass you. You are in control of a triangular shaped spaceship that has the ability to rotate left and right and move in a forward direction. If you do not press the thrust button all of the time, the ship will eventually come to a rest.
Each stage of the game begins with a few asteroids moving about the screen in random directions. As you shoot the asteroids, they will break up into smaller pieces that move much faster and are a lot harder to hit. The smaller rocks also give you more points when hit. Sometimes a flying saucer will appear and move from one side of th screen to the other, firing at you all the while. There are both large flying saucers and small flying saucers, the smaller kind being much harder to hit.
Once you have cleared the screen of all asteroids, a new level will start. Come back to Oldies Arcade any time you want to play Asteroids online or if you just like to play classic arcade games online.
